The last trimming tool you'll sharpen — because you never will.
The T1 Half Dome is built around a replaceable stainless steel blade designed to maintain its sharp cutting edge without sharpening. No stones, no honing, no "it used to cut better than this." When the blade eventually wears, simply replace it and keep trimming.
Its half-dome profile does two jobs at once: the rounded side sweeps smooth curves and clean ribbons, and the crisp straight corner cuts a defined edge — so you can move from a rounded foot to a crisp corner without switching tools.

USES & BENEFITS
Inner foot trimming — the 17 mm half-dome reaches inside a foot ring, while the rounded edge follows the curve for smooth, controlled trimming.
Outer foot trimming — shave thin, continuous ribbons while smoothly blending the foot into the wall.
Square and flat-edge trimming — the straight corner cuts a crisp shoulder or flat facet that can be difficult to achieve with a rounded loop tool.
Carving and shaping leather-hard clay — the sharp cutting edge helps reduce dragging, tearing, and burrs for a cleaner cut. It is not intended for use on bone-dry or fired clay, which can damage the blade.
Smoothing, without switching tools — the paddle-shaped handle tip doubles as a smoothing tool.
A TOOL DESIGNED TO LAST
Unlike traditional loop tools that require periodic sharpening, the T1 uses replaceable cutting blades. When a blade eventually wears, swap in a new one rather than reshaping the edge by hand. The hardwood handle is designed for continued use, and every T1 includes a free replacement blade.

FAQ
What stage of clay works best with the T1?
The T1 is designed for leather-hard clay. It is not intended for bone-dry or fired clay.
What does the half-dome shape do that other blade shapes don't?
It gives you a curve and a corner in the same blade. The rounded side sweeps a smooth curve and shaves continuous ribbons, while the crisp straight corner cuts a defined edge or a flat facet — so a rounded foot and a sharp shoulder can be trimmed without putting the tool down.
Do I ever need to sharpen the T1?
No. The stainless steel blade is manufactured sharp and stays sharp for its service life. When it finally wears, you replace the blade rather than sharpen it.
Is the blade replaceable?
Yes. Replacement T1 blades are available separately in 3- and 10-packs, so you can replace the cutting blade without replacing the entire tool.
Can left-handed potters use it?
Yes. Both sides of the blade are equally sharp, so there is no left- or right-handed version.
Is the T1 for trimming or carving?
Both. It's built primarily for wheel trimming — feet, foot rings, flat edges — and it also carves and shapes leather-hard clay well.
How is this different from a standard steel loop tool?
Traditional steel loop tools dull with use and typically require sharpening or eventual replacement. The T1 uses a replaceable blade designed to maintain its cutting edge without sharpening. When the blade eventually wears, simply replace it.
WHICH T-SERIES TOOL IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Every T-series tool features a replaceable stainless steel blade, a 12 mm x 12 mm x 16 cm hardwood handle, and one free replacement blade. What changes from tool to tool is the blade geometry — and the type of cut it creates. Here's the full T Series at a glance.
