Evelyn – Thanks for sharing your suggestion for a height-adjustable tool that could be used like a throwing gage but for trimming the top of a piece on a banding wheel (or creating a horizontal line with one of our carving tools). Where there is a need, there is inspiration — and we’ve definitely been inspired by your comment. This idea is something our Research and Development Team will experiment with, and of course, anything we design would be created with the DiamondCore level of quality.
I need a nonexistent tool for hand building. It needs to be Diamond Core quality. My eyes are weird such that they make straight lines look curved, which makes it impossible to cut the top of a piece perfectly. Once in a while I might have a reason to do this. The tool needs to be a height-adjustable tool that sits next to a banding wheel and holds a knife (preferably a very sharp, thin exacto knife type). It would be for trimming off the top of a mug or bowl perfectly level. Many people with good eyes could have occasion to trim off a piece perfectly, people who hand build or wheel throw.
Being able to switch out the knife for a rounded-end tool for marking perfectly for a horizontal design or pushing in a line would be great too.
