How to Replace the Blade on Your P Series Pottery Carving Tool

If your trusty DiamondCore carving tools start to feel more “meh” than magical, it’s time for a blade swap. Swapping out the old blade is quick and easy. Follow this step-by-step guide to get your tool back in action in just a few minutes.

Remove the Old Blade

First, you have to remove the old blade from the handle. 

• Unscrew the bolt on your tool using a Philips screwdriver.

• On the opposite side, loosen and remove the hex nut and washer.

• Now go back to the bolt. Unscrew it completely and gently slide it out.

• You can now remove the washer and the old blade and set them carefully to the side. 

Your handle is now ready for a new, sharp blade. 

Meet the New Blade

With your fresh blade in hand, let’s get you back to carving.

• Insert the bolt into a washer to stabilize the blade

• Slide the bolt and washer into the hole on the new blade.

• Next, insert the bolt through the handle of your P Series carving tool.

• On the other side, place the other washer and the hex nut over the bolt end. Twist the nut a few times with your fingers to get it started.

• Adjust the angle of your blade to match your preferred carving grip and direction.

• Holding the nut steady, tighten the bolt with a screwdriver from the other side. This locks the blade securely in place.
